CLEARWATER, Fla. – Sally S. Cunningham, 85, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Bellair Rehabilitation Center.

Sally was born on June 29, 1936 in Williamsfield, the first child of John and Ruth Steen. During her teenage years, Sally moved with her family to Poland, where she attended and graduated from Poland Seminary High School. It was there that Sally met the love of her life, John “Skip” Brown Cunningham Jr. By marrying Skip on her 21st birthday, her lifelong love began.

Sally attended Youngstown State University for a brief period before becoming an army bride to Skip and moving to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. groups, former president of Poland Middle School PTA, member of the Republican Women’s Club, former president and member of Delta Chi Epsilon Sorority, Youngstown State University, member of Altrusa International, former president of Poland Business Association, director of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Community Bible Fellowship group leader in Clearwater, Florida, and helped teach in her Bible study group at the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, where she had been a member for 12 years.

After the death of her beloved husband and eldest daughter, Kim Tiberio, Sally moved to Florida in August 2008. Sally spent her final years living on the beach in Redington Beach, Florida near her second daughter , Kellie Sipos, and her four granddaughters.

Sally enjoyed walking on the beach, partying in her apartment, horseback riding, KA Welcome Trouble, entertaining northern visitors, and visiting her third daughter and granddaughter, Karrie Plaskett, in Ocean Springs, Miss. Sally was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. fan and attended many of their matches over the years.

Sally was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Steen; husband, Skip Cunningham; first daughter, Kim Tiberio; and her granddaughter, Emilie Sipos.

She is survived by her two sisters, Bonnie Summers and Sharmon Lesnak; brother, Jon Steen; and her two daughters, Kellie Sipos and Karrie Plaskett. Sally was so proud of her nine grandchildren, Shawn Tiberio, Joshua Cunningham, Greg Tiberio, Kayla Plaskett, Jonathan Tiberio, Emilie Sipos (deceased), Olivia Sipos, Madeline Sipos and Mollie Sipos; as well as seven great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Sally.

Sally will be greatly missed, and if you knew her, you were blessed as she always had a smile on her face, a kind word and a happy attitude through whatever life threw at her. She always said that her faith and love of the Lord was what got her through it all.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Indian Rocks First Baptist Church, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo, Fla.; at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Road, Salem, Ohio; and 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, on the schooner Biloxi, Biloxi, Miss., for a farewell and release of the ashes of Skip and Sally.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Kim Tiberio Scholarship Fund. Sally created this fund in honor of her late daughter, to help students in the respiratory therapy program at Youngstown State University pay for their tuition.
